Ils avaient achev\u00e9 leur t\u00e2che\u00a0le reste de la guerre ne pr\u00e9senterait plus de danger, ils rentraient chez eux. Naturellement, ils\u00a0\u00e9taient d\u2019excellente humeur tandis que nous remontions d\u2019un pas mal assur\u00e9 le couloir central<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">du DC3, le vieux cheval de peine fid\u00e8le de la deuxi\u00e8me guerre, pour nous asseoir l\u2019un en face\u00a0de l\u2019autre. Personne n\u2019\u00e9tait d\u2019humeur \u00e0 se reposer. On s\u2019entendrait \u00e0 peine r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir dans ces\u00a0vieux appareils insonoris\u00e9s, mais nous nous adressions les uns aux autres en hurlant avec\u00a0beaucoup d\u2019entrain; jusqu\u2019au moment o\u00f9 nous entr\u00e2mes dans &#8220;un orage, et l\u00e0 le fracas du\u00a0tonnerre et la lueur aveuglante des \u00e9clairs et les brusques secousses du vieux cheval de peine<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">nous donn\u00e8rent d\u2019autres pr\u00e9occupations. Certes, j\u2019avais peur, mais je n\u2019allais pas le laisser\u00a0voir devant des v\u00e9t\u00e9rans qui avaient accompli 55 missions au-dessus de l\u2019Allemagne.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A un moment poignant je remarquai que deux vieillards grisonnants, dont ni l\u2019un ni\u00a0l\u2019autre n\u2019avaient pas moins de vingt-six ans, transpiraient abondamment. Mettant leurs mains\u00a0en cornets ils se hurl\u00e8rent quelque chose d\u2019une voix rauque dans les oreilles et puis,\u00a0brusquement, ils se laiss\u00e8rent tomber \u00e0 genoux, leurs l\u00e8vres se mirent \u00e0 remuer sans bruit, et\u00a0ils firent le signe de la croix.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Je repensais \u00e0 cet incident sans plaisir l\u2019autre soir alors que je me trouvais dans le\u00a0premier orage de ce genre depuis ce moment-l\u00e0. .,A c\u00f4t\u00e9 de moi \u00e9tait assis un vieil\u00a0eccl\u00e9siastique corpulent.
