Gozem is Africa’s transportation application. Launched in Lome, Togo, Gozem aims to make transportation across West and Central Africa easier, safer and more reliable.

Job Description:

The Android developer will have as primary focus the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. He will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Profile Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of the Android SDK, different versions of Android and the management of different screen sizes
  
  Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and available libraries for common tasks
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A talent for benchmarking and optimization
• A good understanding of code version management tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs for connecting Android applications to back-end services
• Strong knowledge of the design principles, models and best practices of the Android user interface
• Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning
• Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”
• Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
• Master level highly recommended, not compulsory.

Main duties:

• Design, creation and maintenance of applications for the Android platform.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain the quality of code, documentation, organization and automation.
• Ensure the performance, quality and responsiveness of applications.
