GRE To GMAT Conversion & How Accurate Is GRE To GMAT Conversion?

GRE To GMAT Conversion & How Accurate Is GRE To GMAT Conversion? GMAT has been the preferred choice of business schools for evaluating candidates for admission into graduate management programs. GRE and GMAT are standardized tests for admission into graduate programs at universities in the US and other countries like Canada, Australia, Germany, and the UK.

Due to limited information on the exact GRE score requirement, it is important to know the GRE to GMAT score conversion to determine where you stand as an applicant with GRE scores. This article will give you more details on GRE To GMAT Conversion.

Differences between GRE and GMAT:

GRE

  • Testing Time: 3 Hours 45 minutes.
  • Adaptiveness: Section adaptive.

GMAT

  • Format: Gmat has 4 Sections which are: Verbal reasoning (6-51), Quantitative reasoning (6-51), Analytical writing assessment (0-6 in 0.5-point increments), Integrated reasoning (1-8).

GRE to GMAT Score Conversion Formula

The formula you can use for your GRE score to GMAT score conversion is as follows:

  • GMAT Verbal Score = 0.912*GRE Verbal Reasoning score – 109.49
  • GMAT Total Score = 6.38*GRE Verbal Reasoning score + 10.62*GRE Quantitative Reasoning score – 2080.75
  • GMAT Quantitative Score = 1.243*GRE Quantitative Reasoning score – 158.42

Lower GRE scores have a less damaging impact on a school’s rankings than a lower total GMAT score. Schools are self-interested institutions. And one thing that very much interests them is their ranking in various publications. Since the majority of applicants take the GMAT rather than the GRE, a school’s average GRE score has less of an effect on its ranking than its average GMAT. One way of interpreting this is that if a school falls in love with you, but you have a low GRE score, you are more likely to get admitted than if you have a low GMAT score.
