British High Commission Scholarships 2026-2027

INTERNAL COMMUNIQUE

The Minister of Higher Education (MINESUP) hereby announces to the general public and prospective applicants that the British High Commission is launching the Chevening scholarships scheme for the 2026-2027 academic year. 

This scholarship is open to outstanding professionals with strong leadership potentials and academic excellence, to pursue a Master’ degree program at any UK university of their choice in the following fields:

• Security and Peace (International Security / Security Management / Terrorism / Regional Development / Conflict Resolution / Peace Health / Wild life Protection).
• Prosperity ( Engineering / Economics / Trade / Governance /
  Development / Creativity
  and Innovation / Entrepreneurship).
• Human Rights / Freedom of Expression (Media Law / Political Communication / Women’s Rights / LGBT / Rule of Law).
• Governance and Rule of Law.

To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:

1. Be a Cameroonian ‘citizen (Chevening-eligible country);
2. Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended;
3. Have an undergraduate degree that will enable vou to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2: 1 honors degree in the UK.
4. Have at least two years work experience.
5. Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 14 July 2025.
6. Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 14 July 2025.

The latest date for applications to be submitted is 3rd November 2025.
