Who Can Apply?
This competition is open to both Cameroonian and foreign candidates of both sexes.
For Year 3 entry,
- you must hold at least one of the following qualifications in a relevant discipline: HND, UDT, BTS, B.Tech, B.Sc, or DIPET I or II (civil servants need study permission). Your qualification must be recognised as equivalent by the Cameroon Ministry of Higher Education. Strong grades in O/L and/or A/L Mathematics are also required.
For Year 4 entry,
- you need a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) from a recognised university or institution, along with strong Mathematics results at O/L and/or A/L level.
For Year 1 entry,
Academically, you must hold one of the following qualifications:For General GCE qualifications
- You must have GCE Ordinary Level with passes in science subjects, including Mathematics and English Language (or an English Language Proficiency Test), and GCE Advanced Level with passes in at least two science subjects.
- Special provision: For Architecture, Computer Engineering, and Meteorology Engineering, candidates with an A or B grade in A/L Mathematics (and other subjects) are eligible to sit the entrance exam. Candidates without a pass in Mathematics at GCE O/L must demonstrate a pass in Mathematics at GCE A/L or Baccalauréat.
For Technical GCE qualifications
You must have Technical GCE Ordinary Level with a pass in Mathematics and English Language (or an English Language Proficiency Test), and Technical GCE Advanced Level with a pass in at least two relevant technical subjects. A pass in Mathematics at Technical GCE A/L is required where you do not have it at O/L.For Francophone Baccalauréat qualifications (Probatoire)
Holders of Probatoire C, D, E, F1, F2, F3, F4, MISE or TIC with a pass in Mathematics and English Language (or an English Language Proficiency Test), and subsequently a Baccalauréat with passes in at least two relevant science subjects, are eligible. A pass in Mathematics at Baccalauréat is required where it was not obtained at Probatoire level.For Equivalent Qualifications
Any diploma or certificate recognised as equivalent by the Ministry of Higher Education (MINESUP) is also accepted. If you are still awaiting your examination results at the time of applying, you must wait for the official release of those results before completing the online registration form. ALL ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS
The April – June 2026 session of the Higher National Diploma (HND 2026 Cameroon) exam have been launched and shall take place in the following four (04) centres: Bamenda, Buea, Douala and Yaounde. Other exam centres could be created if conditions allow.
Officially, the 2026 schedule for Cameroon General Certificate of Education (GCE) Board examinations will run from early May through late-May for practicals, with written, General, and Technical papers following in June and finishes in July.
