Fulbright African research scholar program 2023-2024 | Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program (FVSP). The U.S. Embassy in Cameroon is seeking qualified candidates for the 2023 Fulbright African Research Scholar Program (ARSP). - One academic year grant (9 months) must begin in September 2023.
- A-semester grant (5 months) must begin in September 2023 or January 2024.

Applicants of various disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, science, and technology are welcome to apply.
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program seeks applicants whose writing achieves highest academic standards of original research, writing, and citation. The program application includes the opportunity to describe your academic work and research.
Application materials will be processed using software to help identify any instance of plagiarism. Plagiarism in any part of your application will result in your disqualification from participation in the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program.

Upon completion of their program, Fulbrighters are required to return to their home country to complete the two-year residency requirement before becoming eligible to apply for other visas.
The Fulbright Program requires grantees to return to their home countries when their academic exchange activities in the United States are concluded.
Fulbright grants offer a $1,000-per-month allowance as a minimum and an ongoing monthly allowance of $1,150 for housing and upkeep. There’s also a $3,500 allowance for traveling and relocating, along with $500 for books and research.
24 of those 51 applicants have been named Fulbright Semi-Finalists by the U.S. National Screening Committee, moving onto the final stage of Fulbright review in their respective host countries. We want to congratulate these 24 Semi-Finalists on all of their hard work!
Eligibilities for the Fulbright African research scholar program
Fulbright African Research Scholar Program applicants must:
- Be a Cameroonian citizen
- Applicants must reside in Cameroon throughout the nomination and selection process, and they must return to Cameroon upon completion of their U.S. stay.
- Hold an M.A. or Ph.D. degree
- Applicants should be university faculty, government officials, private sector professionals, work at a think tank, or occupy similar occupations. Applicants will be expected to have a significant record of scholarly or professional accomplishment.
- be proficient in English.
Applicants are ineligible to apply if:
- They have been to the United States as a J-1 Exchange Visitor in the category of Professor or Research Scholar within the past two years.
- They are currently teaching, studying, or conducting research in the United States, or who have received a Fulbright grant within the past five years.
Affiliation in the United States: Any appropriate and accredited institution in the United States
