If your Applicant Score (AS) and subject specific % pass marks do not meet the direct entry requirements for your chosen programme, you will need to consider another qualification as we no longer test applicants for admission.

Final acceptance is depended on:

• your final school leaving results meeting the minimum admission requirements for your chosen programme, or
• the submission of your final academic record and certificate of conduct if you are studying elsewhere.

Programs to study at Nelson Mandela University

• Master of Law – Mercantile Law. NMMU s Master of Law – Mercantile Law is offered on the South Campus over a year of full-time studies or the equivalent for part-time studies. The research option of this education programme requires students to complete a dissertation on an approved topic within the field of law, as well as a research oral presentation. These components make up a total of 120 credits.
• Bachelor of Music – Interdisciplinary Studies. Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University s Bachelor of Music – Interdisciplinary Studies allows students to widen the scope of their degree by adding non-music subjects to their education programme.
• Bachelor in Psychology – Counselling. Nelson Mandela University s Bachelor in Psychology – Counselling is offered on a full-time basis over 4 years. Students enrolled in this education programme gain professional training in psychology, which leads to registration as a Registered Counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• Bachelor of Psychology: Program 2 (Honours). The Bachelor of Psychology: Program 2 (Honours) at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa is an education programme aimed at students who have completed a 3-year undergraduate psychology degree and who want to qualify to apply for the Professional Board of Psychology as a Registered Counsellor.
• BSc Honours in Environmental Geography. The BSc Honours in Environmental Geography is a full time programme that stretches over three years and takes place on the Nelson Mandela University’s South Campus. • Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Modelling. The Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Modelling is a full-time degree stretching over three years. It is designed to lead to a career in the field of statistical data analysis in finance. Being a new and innovative programme, the Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Modelling focuses on the intersection of statistics and financial modelling.
• Bachelor of Commerce – Economics (Honours).
• PhD in Construction Management. PhD in Construction Management is offered on a full-time basis of 2 years or a part-time basis. Students conduct research under supervision, and submit a thesis based on their research publications, work in practice, and/or research work. This establishes the student as authorities in the field of construction management, or their specific, chosen specialisation.
• PhD in Engineering – Mechatronics. PhD in Engineering – Mechatronics is offered on a full-time basis over 2 years of study or a part-time basis over a period of up to 6 years, and is available on the school s North Campus. Students complete research toward a thesis worth 360 credit points.
