The New York University Tisch School of the Arts (commonly referred to as Tisch) is the performing, cinematic and media arts school of New York University.
Tisch is a training ground for artists, scholars of the arts, and filmmakers. The school is divided into three Institutes: Performing Arts, Emerging Media, and Film & Television.
The school also offers an inter-disciplinary “collaborative arts” program, high school programs, continuing education in the arts for the general public, as well as the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, which teaches entrepreneurial strategies in the music recording industry. A dual MFA/MBA graduate program is also offered, allowing students to take coursework at both Tisch and NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Does NYU Tisch Require SAT
The 25th percentile New SAT score is 1370, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1510. In other words, a 1370 places you below average, while a 1510 will move you up to above average. There’s no absolute SAT requirement at NYU, but they really want to see at least a 1370 to have a chance at being considered.

Things to Know Before Applying
- Email Address: Make sure to use a personal email address. We strongly encourage you not to use a school email address to submit your application, as you may miss important information about your application and admissions decision.
Checking your application status. Within three weeks of the application deadline, NYU will let you know that we have received your application and give you information about how to track your status. - The review process: Admissions officers personally review every application. There are no formulas to making admissions decisions; NYU seeks a mix of students who have a variety of interests, talents, and goals. There is also no maximum number of students we can admit.
- Original Documents: Please submit only documents or copies that you can replace because NYU does not return application documents.
- International students seeking financial aid/support: International students applying primarily to New York and seeking financial aid should be aware that your indicated financial need will be factored into an admissions decision.
Missing Materials. NYU offers a (limited) window to submit anything that might be missing from your application. - Invited visits to Abu Dhabi and Shanghai campuses: If NYU is strongly considering you for NYU Abu Dhabi and/or NYU Shanghai, we may invite you to meet with students, faculty, and administrators on campus. Please note that you cannot request an invitation to these special visits.

- Transfer students seeking financial aid/support: At present, NYU does not provide institutional aid to transfer students with the exception of certain partner or specialty programs such as CCTOP, Phi Theta Kappa, Horizon, GUIDE, POISE, and Second Degree Transfer program at Rory Meyers College of Nursing.
