The main objective of this consultation is to support and implement the new resource mobilization strategy in support to the RM officer NO2. This includes, among other things: 1. Implementation and coordination of proposals with institutional donors with Chiefs of section programme and the PAC (partnerships, advocacy and communication), for the writing of the narrative 2. Coordinate, launch, implement the RM strategy on the portfolio for the private sector, Foundations, UNICEF NatComs and individual givings.

Minimum requirements:

Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Administration/Policy, social sciences and sociology; International Development or any other relevant field.

Work Experience: At least 1 years of relevant work experience in of relevant job experience in communication, public relations, donor relations, resource mobilization at professional level in UNICEF or other organizations that works in humanitarian relief/protection actives

Skills: Experience in Grant Management, Reporting, Partnership Management, Private Sector Engagement is required.
 Language Requirements: Fluency in French (verbal and written) and working knowledge of English is required.

Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Tasks and duties:

You will perform the following tasks: – Assist in monitoring and analyzing donor policies on humanitarian assistance, the potential for accessing transition and development funding sources, and policies/strategies of organizations competing with UNICEF over funds.

  • Assist in developing strategies to raise locally available funds, providing the necessary support, guidelines, and tools.
  • Monitor recording and tracking of contributions and take necessary action to satisfy donor requirements.
  • Follow up on the funding situation of the Programme areas and update the corresponding funding charts.
  • Provide information to donors on UNICEF Cameroon operations and financial requirements including responding to donor governments for information on an ad hoc basis.
  • Support the drafting of communication plans for resource mobilization and assist in the research of news hooks, story angles, and creative opportunities to optimize communication and fundraising.
  • Implement the Individual giving process in alignment with HQ guidance and in the frame of cooperation with the Government of Cameroon, including the effective construction of an internal steering committee, and the implementation of the DOA template form, working closely with the DEPREP Ops.
  • Build trusted, effective relationships with donors including the NatCom network.
  • Contribute to strengthening the capacity of section staff on donor outreach strategy.
  • Consolidate quality of internal reporting including situation updates and project proposals.
  • Contribute to quality check of donor reports in terms of conformity with original proposals, donor and reporting requirements, and compliance with results-based management
  • Ensure coherence and consistency between upstream and downstream partnership agreement (donor & implementing partners).

Desirables

  • Experience in foundations relations, private sector fundraising, humanitarian aid contexts, national committees’ coordination, UNICEF NatComs Coordination and emergency is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
