Canadian scholarship Queen Elizabeth Scholarship: The Minister of Higher Education announces to prospective and interested candidates that the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship (QES) program is offering three (03) scholarships to Cameroonians of both sexes in the University of Montreal-Canada, through CAREH (Caring for Education and Health Foundation) NGO. The scholarship aims at training future leaders within the Commonwealth in the area of global health and global citizenship.

This scholarship will cover the following three priority health themes:

• Innovative strategies to improve maternal and child health.
• The promotion of universal access to priority public health and quality.
• Epidemiological surveillance and rapid and effective response to global health problems.

Given the procedures specific to the QES and University of Montreal scholarship Program, the proposed scholarships cover 3 to 6 months, and the offer will cover the following expenses:

• Tuition fees.
• Supplies/conferences.
• Airplane ticket and visa: at market prices (economy class).
• Living expenses.
• Other justified and admissible expenses related to the program.

Eligibility requirements

• Be of Cameroonian nationality.
• Be prepared to register full time at University of Montreal for one semester of reading courses.
• Be at least 35 years of age at the time of submission of the application.
• Commit to returning to his or her country of origin.
• Have obtained excellent school results.
• Have research, communication and leadership potentials.
• Possess adequate knowledge of English to be able to study in this language.
• Be registered full time in an approved master’s or doctoral program in a Commonwealth country for the entire duration of the scholarship.
• Agree to devote 15% of his or her time during the scholarship period to participating in community involvement activities.
• Propose a project that encompasses the project’s three (03) priority themes.

Students could register for the following sessions:

1. Fall: February 1
2. Winter: September 15
3. Summer: February 1

Interested candidates must apply 5 months before the beginning of the semester targeted to give time for review of the applications, selection of applicants and preparation for departure.
