A minimum overall average of 70% in six Grade 12 U/M courses establishes your eligibility to apply for admission. Ryerson receives more applications than spaces available. For current Ontario secondary school applicants, Ryerson may use Grade 11 results in the early admission selection process.
All applications will be considered on an individual basis and subject to competition. The minimum grade requirement for admission consideration to a master’s program is a 3.0/4.33 (B or equivalent) in the last two years of study within a four year undergraduate (or equivalent) bachelor’s degree.
A “healthy” average for applicants to Ryerson University is in the 85–100 range. Hence, to be viewed as a desirable applicant, your Grade 12 average should at least be 85 %.
How does Ryerson assess applications for admission?
The complete academic record of all your secondary and post-secondary studies (e.g. college, university) is considered as part of the competitive selection process, unless otherwise noted. Admission is based on competitive grades in program specific subject requirements and competitive overall admission averages.

Guaranteed and Renewable Scholarships
Students attending a Canadian secondary school with final averages of 86% and higher, who meet the terms and conditions for scholarship, are guaranteed a renewable entrance scholarship according to the following values.
Terms and Conditions
To be eligible for consideration for the guaranteed and renewable scholarships, students must:
- Be currently enrolled full-time in a Canadian secondary school (minimum of three Ontario grade 12 U/M courses or Canadian provincial equivalent within the 2021-2022 regular school year.
- Have been continuously enrolled full-time (no gaps in full-time attendance prior to the 2021-2022 regular school year).
- Be enrolling in a postsecondary institution for the first time.
- Have submitted the correct and complete application for admission to the program for which the scholarship is being granted by September 1, 2022.
