Written Competitive Entrance Examination into year one of the First Cycle of the Higher Teachers Training College of the University of Buea, for the 2026/2027 academic year, is hereby launched to admit students in the following Domains : Fundamentals Sciences, Arts, Languages and Literatures, Social Sciences and Humanities, Sciences of Educations. kamerpower.com
Candidates shall not be older than 32 years of age on 01 January 2026. Foreign candidates may be authorised to sit for the examination under the same academic conditions, depending on the number of places available and in conformity with the regulations in force.
The written examination will take place on Sunday, 15 March 2026, in the following Examination Centres: Buea, Bamenda, Douala, and Yaoundé. The final results are published by the Minister of Higher Education.

The Competitive Entrance Examination shall be organized in one sitting to Cameroonians of both sexes, following the minimum admission qualifications stipulated below:
- Candidates must be holders of a Bachelor’s Degree or Licence in the teaching subject of the field of study and option, except for Guidance and Counseling – Inclusive (Special Needs) Education and Science of Education.
- For Guidance and Counseling- Inclusive (Special Needs) Education, and Science of Education, candidates must be holders of a Bachelor’s Degree or a Licence in Humanities or Social Sciences.
- Holders of a Professional Bachelor’s Degree or Licence delivered by the Ministry of Higher Education system and corresponding to the Series offered are authorised to sit for the examination.
What are the application files / documents needed for Admission?
- Transcripts of levels I, Il and III of the Bachelor’s Degree or Licence certified by the competent academic authority of the candidate’s University.
- A Registration Form available at the Higher Teacher Training College (HTTC) – University of Buea, Regional Delegations of MINESEC, on the MINESUP website: www.minesup.gov.cm or the website of the University of Buea at: www.ubuea.cm.
- All applications must be submitted online, following the procedure outlined on the University of Buea online platform. The candidate should therefore visit the University of Buea’s website at www.ubuea.cm and proceed to the “Admission” tab, or access it directly at www.ubstudents.online/admission.
- A certified true copy of the Bachelor’s Degree or Licence or any equivalent diploma recognized by MINESUP dated not more than three (03) months.
- A certified true copy of the birth certificate dated not more than three (03) months.

- A certificate of non-conviction dated not more than three (03) months.
- A stamped A4 envelope at the regulated price with the candidate’s address.
- A medical certificate issued by a State Medical Officer testifying to the candidate’s physical fitness to teach.
- A receipt upon payment of twenty thousand (20,000) FCFA as examination registration fee, payable through the online platform at www.ubuea.cm or www.ubstudents.online/admission using mobile money. No other form of payment shall be accepted. The payment of the examination registration fee stipulated is non-refundable.
- An Autorisation of the Minister of Basic Education and of the Minister of Secondary Education or the Minister of Higher Education, as per the case of civil servants in these ministries.
For foreign diplomas/certificates
Holders of foreign diplomas/certificates shall be eligible only if they submit either the equivalence or the receipt showing that they have applied for the equivalence of their diplomas or certificates. The Ministry of Higher Education issues the order granting equivalence and the receipt. The final admission of such candidates shall be confirmed only on presentation of the text granting them equivalence, within the deadline set by the competent authorities.
Latest dates for submission of documents for ENS Buea
Complete files should be submitted to the Regional Delegations of MINESEC where the candidate has choosen to write the examination by Friday, 13 february 2026 or to HTTC, University of Buea (Admissions and Records Office) by Friday, 13 february 2026.
The examination shall comprise:
- Study of the candidate’s academic profile which shall account for 25% of the total assessment.
- Two written papers, which shall account for 75% of the total assessment.
The study of the candidate’s academic profile shall take into consideration:
- The candidate’s age.
- The number of years spent in the University.
- The grade obtained at the Bachelor’s Degree, Licence, or any equivalent diploma.
Entrance Exam syllabuses and Schedule
- The syllabuses of the written examination will be at the level of the Bachelor’s Degree or Licence and the papers/subjects are specified per Field of Study and Option.
- The examination syllabi are of the Bachelor’s or Licence for each corresponding speciality.
- The scores of each paper range from zero (00) to twenty (20) and attribute the aforementioned coefficient. The elimination score will be 5 out of 20 (05/20) and below.
- A Jury shall prepare the list of successful candidates per field of study and option by order of merit and submit it, in strict confidence, to the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education for publication.
- Successful candidates shall not, under any circumstances, defer their registration to the following academic year.
Candidates who are fraudulently admitted without fulfilling the stipulated conditions of basic entry certificate, grade or age limit, shall be subject to instant dismissal at any moment without any formal procedure.
