INTERNAL COMMUNIQUE
The Minister of Higher Education wishes to announce to the general public and prospective applicants that, the Commonwealth of learning (COL), in partnership with the Brunei Darussalam government are offering five (5) Masters’ Degree Scholarships.
This offer is for workers, preferably for those of Higher Education Institutions or Departments of Higher Education to study a Masters’ Degree for one or two years on a full-time basis.
The scholarship awards are available for programmes commencing in July/August 2024 in the following three participating institutions of Brunei Darussalam.
The institutions are:
1. Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD),
2. Universiti Islam Sultan Shrif Ali (UNISSA),
3. Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB).
Applicants are invited to follow the application procedures directly with the Brunei Darussalam Government as stated on the Application form and to submit a copy of the complete application package to the following website; ggotsha@col.org and ccruz@col.org.
Applicants seeking the scholarship must:
- Meet the admission/entry requirements of the chosen programme as stated by the participating institution and provide COL a copy of the application package submitted.
- Be a citizen of a Commonwealth country.
- Be 35 years or below by 31st July 2024.
- Have the written support of Vice Chancellors, Presidents or equivalent institution heads.
- Must have written endorsement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or National Focal Point for scholarships in the scholar’s respective country. See the Application Form for details.
- Applicants must produce a security clearance statement from the National Security Agency/Police station.
- Must be able to possess a valid passport for the whole duration of study in Brunei Darussalam.
- Demonstrate how the degree obtained will help progress your personal and professional development.
- Preference will be given to those with a potential training role in their institution upon graduation.
- Gender balance will be considered.
The deadline for the submission of files is 26th January 2024.
