THE MINISTER OF SECONDARY EDUCATION

HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:


CHAPTER I: GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1- This order organises the Competitive Entrance Examination into Government Technical Teacher Training Colleges (G.T.T.T.Cs.).

Article 2 – (1) The Competitive Entrance Examination into Government Technical Teacher Training Colleges (G.T.T.T.Cs.) is launched at the end of every academic year in all Regional Headquarters in a unique session.
(2) This competitive entrance examination is opened to all young Cameroonians of both sexes aged at least 17 and at most 32, as of 1st January of the current year. kamerpower.com
(3) Foreign candidates will be admitted under a Special status into Government Technical Teacher Training Colleges by a Decision signed by the Minister in Charge of Teacher Training.

Article 3 – The Competitive Entrance Examination into Government Technical Teacher Training Colleges (G.T.T.T.C.) is launched by a Decision of the Minister in Charge of Teacher Training.

Article 4 – The decision launching the competitive entrance examination specifies: 

  • The nature and purpose of the Entrance Examination.
  • The number of available places for each specialty, level, school and for the different kind of candidates.
  • The examination centres
  • The examination time-table.
  • The composition and modalities for depositing candidates files.
  • The registration fee.

CHAPTER ll: APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND MODALlTlES

Article 5 – (1) The qualification required for the Competitive Entrance examination into G.T.T.T.C. are:

(a) For the entrance into first year: (1 CAP – Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle » or GCE Ordinary Level Technical in 04 subjects obtained in one sitting excluding Religious knowledge or any other equivalent certificate of Technical Education.

(b) For the entrance into the second year: (t the Probatoire de I’Enseignement Technique », « the Probatoire de Brevet de Technicien », « the Brevet d’Etudes Professionnelles », GCE Ordinary Level Technical in at least 05 subjects obtained in one sitting excluding Religious knowledge, GCE Advanced Level Technical in 01 subject obtained in one sitting excluding Religious knowledge or any other equivalent certificate of Technical Education.

(c) For the entrance into the third year: (t the Baccalaureat de l‘Enseignement Technique », « the Brevet de Technicien GCE Advanced Level Technical in at least 02 subjects obtained in one sitting excluding Religious knowledge, or any other equivalent certificate of Technical Education.

(2) However, candidates who do not fulfil the conditions provided in paragraph (1) of the present article are allowed to apply pending the obtainment of the required certificate before their final admission.

Article 6: Each candidate writes in hislher original specialty.

Article 7: (1) Candidates for the competitive entrance examination pay their registration fees in cash.

(2) The payment of registration fees by candidates is done at the moment of deposit of their files and no reimbursement is done thereafter.

Article 8: The registration fees aforementioned are used to cover the expenses incurred during the organisation and running of the said competitive entrance examination.

CHAPTER III: CONDUCT OF THE COMPETITIVE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Article 9 – (1) The Minister in charge of Teacher Training appoints the special envoy “Charge de mission” for the written phase of the Examination.

(2) The Regional Delegate of Secondary Education, Chief of centre for the examination puts in place a Secretariat, appoints its members and signs the list of invigilators.

Article 10 – Candidates for the examination shall write in any G.T.T.T.C found in a Regional Headquarter (of his/her choice). kamerpower.com

Article 11 –  Questions for the competitive entrance examination are written and include:

(a) For entry into year one:
Specialty Paper, duration 4 hours, coefficient 4
-Reading comprehension/English Language, duration 2 hours, coefficient 4
General or business Mathematics, duration 2 hours, coefficient 2
Question on second language duration 2 hours, coefficient 2

(b) For entry into year two:
Specialty Paper, duration 4 hours, coefficient 4
Reading Comprehension/English Language, duration 2 hours, coefficient 4
General Mathematics or Business Mathematics, duration 2hours, coefficient 2
Question on second language duration 2 hours, coefficient 2

(c) For entry into year three:
Specialty Paper, duration 4hours, coefficient 4
General Knowledge, duration Shours, coefficient 4
General Mathematics or Business Mathematics, duration 2hours, coefficient 2
Question on second language duration 2hours, coefficient 2

2 Questions on general mathematics are destined to candidates of industrial specialties and those of Home Economics while questions on business mathematics are for candidates of Tertiary science and technology specialties.

Article 12 – The Regional delegate publishes the list of the different examiners.
Article 13 – The grading of scripts and filling of marks into the mark sheet is under the supervision of a special envoy « Charge de mission » appointed by the Minister in charge of Teacher Training.

CHAPTER IV: ADMISSION AND PUBLICATION OF RESULTS

Article 14 – The members of panel for final deliberations are appointed by the Minister in charge of Teacher Training.

Article 15 – The results of the Competitive Entrance Examination into G.T.T.T.Cs. are published in order of merit by the Minister in charge of Teacher Training.

Article 16 – (1) Candidates are admitted in order of merit and in respect of the number of places available.
(2) A waiting list of candidates in order of merit, and per level is published at the same moment with that of successful candidates.
(3) Candidates who wrote the Entrance examination awaiting results will finally be admitted in the G.T.T.T.C. of their choice upon presentation of a duly certified copy of the required certificate to the principal of the school.

Article 17: The transfer of candidates from one G.T.T.T.C to another is not allowed. However, under some unavoidable circumstances (sickness, transfer of parents…), requests for transfers from student-teachers who must have made at least one academic year in the college and forwarded through hierarchy, could be authorised by the Minister in charge of Teacher Training.

CHAPTER V: MISCELLANEOUS AND FINAL PROVISIONS

Article 18: Any fault, fraud or fraudulent attempt is sanctioned against the author or the accomplice (candidate, examiner, or third person) under the stipulations of the general policy of examinations.

Article 19 – All participants involved in the running of the entrance examination into G.T.T.T.Cs shall receive an allowance in compliance with the regulation in force.

Article 19 – The present Order takes effect as from the date of its signature.

Article 20 – All previous provisions contrary to those of the present Order especially Order No.33/10/MINESEC/ SEESEN/IGEIIP-EN/ DECC of 15 February 2010 on the Organisation of Competitive Entrance Examination into Government Teacher Training Colleges (G.T.T.T.Cs.) are repealed.

Article 21 – The Inspector General of Education, the Director of Examinations and Certification and Regional Delegates are in charge of the implementation of this Order which shall be registered and published where ever need arises.

    Why are teachers from GTTTC NOT MATTICULATED with direct employment at end of their courses? Why will the government matriculate and offer direct recruitment to those of HTTTC and leaving the teachers and parents of GTTTC flummoxed? Is GTTTC a private schools in Cameroon,?
