The Minister of Higher Education announces to interested candidates at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels that the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) Dhaka, Bangladesh, Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is offering a number of scholarships for the academic year which commences from 11 January.

The offers are in the following fields:

I – Postgraduate Programmes in Engineering

a) Doctor of philosophy in:

i) Mechanical Engineering,
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
iii) Computer Science and Engineering.

b) Master of Science (normally one and a half year programme) in:

i) Mechanical Engineering
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
iii) Computer Science and Applications
iv) Computer Science and Engineering
v) Civil Engineering.

c) Master of Engineering (normally one and a half year programme) in:

i) Mechanical Engineering
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
iii) Computer Science and Engineering
iv) Civil Engineering.

II – Technical Education Programmes.

1. Master of Science in Technical Education (1 to 2 years programme depending on the background of the candidate).
2. Post graduate Diploma in Technical Education (1 year programme).
3. Bachelor of Science in Technical Education (1 to 2 years programme depending on the background of the candidate.
4. Diploma in Technical Education (1 year programme).

III – Bachelor of Science (4 years programme) in:

i) Mechanical Engineering
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
iii) Computer Science and Engineering
iv) Civil Engineering.

IV – Higher Diploma (3 years programme) in:

i) Mechanical Engineering
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
iii) Computer Science and Engineering.

To be eligible you must be:

1. A Cameroonian;
2. Physically and mentally fit to pursue studies abroad;
3. Must be English speaking or if English is not your language of instruction, show proof of proficiency in the English language by passing the TOEFL or IELTS Tests.

Candidates for Master’s Programmes in Engineering will be selected in order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in B.SC. Engineering from IUT or an equivalent institution. Candidates for M.Sc in Computer Science and Applications must have B.Sc Engineering degree or 4 years B.Sc degree or its equivalent with sufficient back-ground of Mathematics and Computer.

Other requirements include:

1. A stamped handwritten application addressed to the Minister of Higher Education;
2. A certified copy of birth certificate not older than 6 months;
3. A certificate of nationality
4. High school transcripts of undergraduate studies
5. A duly filled application form obtainable from room 1504, Ministry of Higher Educafion;
6. Certified copies of academic certificates from G.C.E O/L or Probatoire to the highest qualification obtained;
7. University transcripts for those applying for postgraduate studies and 2nde, 1ere, Tle or form five, lower and upper sixth transcripts for those applying for undergraduate studies
8. 4 recent coloured passport size photographs, bearing the name and nationality of the candidate behind
9. 2 photocopies of passport;
10. An A4 envelope
11. 1 certificate of non-conviction
12. Medical fitness certificate including chest X-ray and routine examination of blood, urine, stool and contagious and communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, HIV, hepatitis B, venereal diseases, etc.

Complete application files of candidates should be deposited in the Ministry of Higher Education Room 1504 lasted 10th August.
