To define the calendar of the training year in Public Intensive Vocational Training Centres (PIVTC) falling under the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training Cameroon.

of Order No. 328/MINEFOP/SG/DFOP/SDGSF of 18 August 2023 to define the calendar of the training year in Public Intensive Vocational Training Centres (PIVTC) falling under the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.
HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
PART I
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1:
- Training and re-training activities of Intensive Vocational Training Centres for the 2022-2023 training year shall begin on Monday, 14 September 2023 and end on Friday, 18 November 2023.
- However, these structures shall remain available throughout the year to meet the specific needs of individual training and refresher training.
- Rural Artisan and Home Economics Centres (RA/HEC) are not covered by this Order.
- Private Vocational Training Centres and Institutes may adopt this calendar as suits them.
PART II
BREAKDOWN OF THE TRAINING YEAR
Article 2:
- Initial training in Intensive Vocational Training Centres shall comprise 5 (five) sequences for a total of 63 (sixty three) weeks, interrupted by two break periods:
- 1st sequence: from Monday, 14 September 2023 to Friday, 18 December 2023.
- 2nd sequence: from Monday, 04 January 2023 to Friday, 11 March 2023;
- 3rd sequence: from Monday, 14 March 2023 to Friday, 17 June 2023;
- 4th sequence: from Monday, 20 June 2023 to Friday, 09 September 2023.
- 5th sequence: from Monday, 12 September 2023 to Friday, 18 November 2023.
- The period earmarked for the re-training of workers shall begin on Monday, 14 September 2023 to Friday, 18 November 2023.
- Skills assessment tests shall be organized at the end of each sequence.
Article 3: Break periods for continuing training mentioned in Article 2 paragraph 1 above shall be as follows:
- 1st break: from Friday, 18 December 2023 at 3:30 p.m. to Monday, 04 January 2023 at 7:30 a.m.
- 2nd break: from Friday, 18 March 2023 at 3:30 p.m. to Monday, 04 April 2023 at 7:30 a.m.
Article 4:
The fourth sequence comprising a maximum of 13 (thirteen) weeks shall be devoted to internship in a professional milieu.
Article 5:
- The fifth sequence comprising a maximum of 10 (ten) weeks shall be devoted to catch-up classes, preparation of end-of-course examination and certification test.
- The fifth sequence shall also be reserved for readjusting training which may last from 12 to 15 months, including internship.
Article 6:
Proposals of examination questions must be submitted to the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (Inspectorate General of Training) latest 31 March 2023.
Article 7:
- Modalities for the organization of end-of-course examinations shall be set out by a separate instrument of the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training.
- The competitive entrance examination into Public Intensive Vocational Training Centres shall take place on Monday 1st August 2023.
PART III
ORGANIZATION OF TRAINING
Article 8:
The Head of the Centre shall, during each period, ensure the proper conduct of training in the training centre and the company, full coverage of schemes of work, organization of continuous assessments in the form of performing tasks and activities contained in the skills description, that may be harmonized for courses of the same level and preparation of skill assessment. kamerpower.com
Article 9:
Given that training programs are made up of modules, each module shall be subject to an assessment, the results of which shall be forwarded through official channels no later than 2 (two) weeks after the end of the assessment to the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.
Article 10:
- Internship shall be compulsory for every trainee. It shall be held within a company, a public or private administration. The internship booklet and/or evaluation form duly signed by the supervisor or the tutor shall beregarded as authentic proof.

- The tutor is not the instructor who shall be responsible for approving and validating internship performance.
Article 11:
- Periods devoted to the vocational guidance of trainees shall be as follows:
- from 14 to 18 September 2023:Vocational Initiation Guidance;
- from 5 to 9 October 2023: Vocational Consolidation Guidance;
- from 1st to 3rd June 2023: Vocational Integration Guidance. kamerpower.com
- Vocational initiation and consolidation guidance activities shall be organized by the Head of the Training Centre in consultation with the territorially competent Regional Service Head for Vocational Training and Guidance on the one hand, and the Divisional Service Head for Vocational Training, Guidance and Assessment on the other hand.
- Vocational integration guidance activities shall be jointly organized by the Department of Vocational Training and Guidance and MINEFOP’s deconcentrated services for Vocational Guidance.
Article 12:
- The period reserved for company familiarization days shall be from 14 to 15 April 2023.
- Company familiarization days’ activities shall be organized by the Inspectorate General of Training and its deconcentrated services and shall involve a visit to the Small and Medium-size Enterprises operating in the areas concerned.
PART IV
MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
Article 13:
- The general assembly meeting shall be held no later than the last Friday before the reopening of the 2023-2024 training year and the first Friday after each break as mentioned in Article 3 above. kamerpower.com
- The training councils with the support of socio-professional partners shall be held at the beginning and at the end of each sequence.
Article 14:
The Head of Centre shall make every effort as part of his facilitation mission to help trainees secure internships. Heshall see to trainees’ integration and post-training follow-up.
Article 15:
The World Teachers’ Days hall be celebrated on Monday, 5 October 2023.
Article 16:
The National Educational Counselling Day shall be celebrated on Friday, 16 October 2023. On this occasion, the structures and officials in charge of vocational guidance in the central and deconcentrated services of MINEFOP shall, in collaboration with their counterparts in MINEDUB and MINESEC, actively participate in these activities to promote vocational training. kamerpower.com
Article 17:
The National Bilingualism Week shall run from Monday, 1st February to Friday, 5 February 2023. To this effect, classes shall be suspended only on Friday, 5 February 2023.
Article 18:
Youth Week activities shall take place from Friday, 5 February to Thursday, 11 February 2023. To this effect, classes shall be suspended only on Thursday, 11 February 2023.
Article 19:
The Commonwealth Day shall be celebrated on Monday, 14 March 2023. kamerpower.com
Article 20:
The “Francophonie Day”shall be celebrated on Sunday, 20 March 2023.
Article 21:
The Open Door Days shall take place from Tuesday 24 to Wednesday, 25 May 2023 jointly with one or more partner companies inthe locality. To this effect, each structure shall be required to organize activities during that period.
Article 22:
The Head of the Training Centre may organize within his structure further training and re-training sessions, as well as individual training based on modules prepared in consultation with the persons concerned.
Article 23:
Staff shall be granted 30 (thirty) days of administrative leave, from 11 July to 9 September 2023. To this effect, a schedule for permanent service shall be prepared by the Head of Centre, taking into account the follow-up of internships, activities relating to competitive entrance examinations and preparation of school reopening.
Article 24:
Vocational training activities in these structures shall take place continuously throughout the year, to meetspecific training needs.
Article 25:
The sectoral meeting organized by the Regional Delegation and bringing together Heads of Public and Private Intensive Vocational Training Centres and Principals of Rural Artisan and Home Economics Sections shall hold between 7 and 18 September 2023 at the latest. kamerpower.com
Article 26:
Regional and Divisional Delegates must submit gender disaggregated statistics on public vocational training structures after exploitation and summary of statistics sent by Divisional Delegates no later than on 31 January 2023. kamerpower.com
PART V
FINAL PROVISIONS
Article 27:
Apart from official public holidays and those determined by decree of the Head of State, any other suspension of classes shall be authorized exclusively by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training.

Article 28:
All training and examination levies shall compulsorily be collected at the same time by the Head of the Centre, no later than 18th October 2023 for initial training, and before the beginning of any further training session for other types of training. Modalities for the management of these levies shall be defined by Decision no.0064/ MINEFOP / SG / DAG/ DFOP /SDGSF /SGCl of 5 October 2005. kamerpower.com
Article 29:
The various amounts received as income collected within the structure shall be transferred to the bank accounts concerned no later than 15 November 2023.
Article 31:
The Secretary General, the Inspector General of Services, the Inspector General of Training, the Director of Vocational Training and Guidance, the Director of General Affairs, the Directors of Central Administration, the Regional and Divisional Delegates, Principals of Rural Artisan and Home Economics Sections and Heads of Trades Training Centres, each in his sphere, shall be responsible for the strict implementation of this Order, which shall be registered and published in the Official Gazette in English and French.
