Gender and Adolescent Intern at UNICEF Yaoundé Cameroon

The main objective is to support the Adolescent and Gender Programme in the process of developing and validating the Girls’ Rights Agenda in Cameroon, in line with the next steps of the Girls’ Movement initiated in 2025.
The intern’s work will therefore consist of. :
- Support engagement with girls’ networks and associations, including follow-up activities and preparation of basic materials for participation and capacity-building sessions.
- Support knowledge management and documentation (organization of programme files and data; documentation of good practices and activity summaries; preparation of basic reports and presentations).
- Support the development of the Girls’ Agenda in Cameroon (compilation of inputs, document formatting, activity tracking).
- Support coordination and partner engagement (follow-up with CSOs, NGOs, and youth groups; maintain simple tracking tools such as contact lists, attendance sheets, and follow-up actions).
- Support activities related to the establishment and follow-up of the second cohort of the AGAB (Adolescent Girls Advisory Board).
- Provide logistical support for meetings, workshops, and events.
- Support any other tasks related to adolescent and gender programming, as required.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks related to programme activities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have
Minimum requirements:
- Have knowledge of data management software, including spreadsheet applications (Excel functions)
- Have proficiency in office software (Word and PowerPoint)
- Have at least four (04) years of community and/or associative experience, including work with adolescents and youth.
- Have strong skills in report writing, data collection, and data analysis.
- Be enrolled in a degree programme, in a graduate school, or be a recent graduate university degree (master’s or higher) in Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Education Sciences, Communication, Monitoring and Evaluation, or any other related field.
- Fluency in English and French is required excellent.
- Have a strong sense of organization.
- Be committed and dedicated.
- Have knowledge of qualitative methods and experience in youth consultations
Desirables:
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
